Lost And Unrequited

William Yurkiewicz These seven songs have left me dismayed. Melancholy malevolence, palpable pain, the sounds of sadness, desolation, and barely subdued anger combine in ways oddly serene and beautiful. I spent the day with the record and the record will spend the rest of my days with me. I am in a state of unease, yet feel soothed and calm. The tracks themselves undulate and evolve subtly, as acts of seduction into a bleak finality. I think this is a work of tortured genius. Art as both release and revenge. Favorite track: Deperdition.

1.
Lost in the abyss, Maimed by the lies, Betrayed by the pretense, Crushed and anesthetized. How could you be, Lost yet unrequited? How could you be, Damned yet unrepentant? How could you know, Blessed yet unrequited? I waited for the sun To burn out the sky, I prayed for darkness To kill all the light
2.
Wydewa 07:01
One is dead, Yet both have lived. Two were buried; Disparate, harmonic, In transition.
3.
Sunyata 08:24
My soul has bled out. My nature is empty. I am that which breathes, I am that which lives. I am nothing.
4.
Symbiosis 06:33
Grown together, Grown apart Apathy begets harmony, Presumption breeds contempt While ingrained In an assumed persona.
5.
Deperdition 08:48
Everything dies, everyone fades, The black sun culls angelic wings. Time collapses into itself And all the stars died so long ago. Fade into lost dreary pages, Drowned in gray, burnt in the cold light. Entranced and amaranthine, Shuttered blind by silent voices.
6.
Absolution 06:34
Absolution Death Release Save me from the venality of numbers, They bred and killed dreams. How many given, how many taken, How many lost, how many shared?
7.
An impossible fount of beauty A collapsing facade of light A dubious ascent of hope An inevitable demise of faith The walls will crumble, The light will fade In this dream Of grace and ruin
